The DigiLab brings the power of digital technology to improve access to learning, even in areas that are remote, inaccessible and truly off-grid.

The Project

The DigiLab, pioneered by 17000 ft Foundation, brings the power of digital technology to improve learning, even in areas that are remote, inaccessible and truly off-grid. The DigiLab assumes neither the presence of uninterrupted electricity, mobile connectivity nor existing infrastructure, and brings together all required components in an offline but connected system, delivering customized and personalized content through a local intranet to students, while also enabling the teachers and administrators to assess and monitor performance.
DigiLab functions completely offline in schools, but can also sync to a cloud-based system through a last mile connectivity app that relies on the presence of travelling teachers and facilitators. DigiLab provides each school with the complete infrastructure, digital content, training and support needed to be fully independent Digital Learning Centers.

Their Vision for the Future

17000 ft Foundation has a vision of a world where geography and distances offer no barriers to opportunity and growth and where students even in rural and most remote areas have access to the same quality education as their urban counterparts.
